Taking a trip to beautiful Tux valley is an amazing experience. Since the valley is situated at an altitude of between 850 and 3,250 metres above sea level, plenty of snow is guaranteed from May to October. Tux valley is part of the Ziller valley area of Austria, which offers tourists plenty of opportunity to engage in winter adventures. The valley features:

Without a doubt, the Hintertux glacier is the figurehead of the entire region. On the glacier, you’ll find perfect skiing conditions and plenty of snow to enjoy, as the skiing area offers no less than 60 kilometres of perfectly prepared slopes. You’re not interested in going down the perfectly prepared slopes of the Tux region? Then you’ll find lots of opportunity to make your own fun here: Tux-Finkenberg offers 28 kilometres of cross-country skiing trails, curling rinks, a natural ice rink and three toboggan runs for sledding. If you’re not in the mood for sports, you can also enjoy the local food: rustic mountainside inns such as the Grieralm, the Bicklalm and the Höllensteinhütte offer regional delicacies in a cosy atmosphere.

Or you could explore the many winter hiking trails of the region to get a closer look at the amazing natural environment. With its unique environment, Tux offers everything you need to leave your everyday life behind for a bit.

Winter adventures for the whole family

If you’re visiting Tux with your kids, you’re in for a great time as well. Take them to Pepis Kinderland at the ridge of mount Penken to learn their very first skiing moves. Or show them the regional kids’ club with its rock-climbing wall, air hockey tables and an extensive play area with slides and many other opportunities to have fun.

You can also find a total of five ski schools for children in the region, offering courses for kids of any age and level of expertise. At the Eggalm kids’ park, you can enjoy a ski roundabout, a kids’ lift, snow tubes and a magic carpet. That’s bound to make your family holiday even more exciting.

Get on your skis and off you go: The kids’ slope and fun slope in Hintertux offer snow tunnels, a wave course and many other fun activities, all overseen by a cute little mascot named Luis the glacier flea. Another highlight for kids is the play area, an indoor playground with a total of 1,000 square metres of space to explore.
