THERMOPLUME INSTEAD OF DOWN
Soft like fresh snow, but pleasantly warm and incredibly lightweight to boot. That’s the innovative new padding material used in Maier Sports Notos jackets and vests. PrimaLoft® Black Insulation ThermoPlume replaces down feathers with a lightweight and well-insulating synthetic material.
We deliberately chose to use this extremely high-quality material made by PrimaLoft®, the world’s leading producer of padding and insulation materials, so our customers could benefit from high-tech padding which feels just like down while being comparatively light and extremely soft. On top of this, ThermoPlume® is affected by moisture to a much lesser degree compared to natural down, so it keeps you warm even when wet. This also makes the material remarkably easy to wash. For all of these reasons we just had to use this great padding material in our Notos insulation jackets and vests for men and women.

The new material is based on natural down both in terms of its consistency and the way it’s been processed. The Notos jackets and vests feature a quilted look that’s synonymous with classic down jackets. But that’s not just part of the visual design, as the ThermoPlume® flakes are blown into the individual quilted chambers just like down. All of the quilting runs horizontally, to make sure gravity doesn’t bunch up the padding material too much. This keeps the flakes where they’re needed to keep your body warm. On top of this, a raised collar and tight-fitting cuffs help keep your body heat inside your jacket at all times.
The hood attached to the jacket or vest provides additional protection from the elements when needed and can be adapted to your personal preferences. The Notos jackets and vests feature an outer fabric which is both wind-repellent and water-repellent, providing ample protection against snow, light rain or the windchill effect of strong winds. On particularly cold days, you can easily wear a ski or outdoor jacket with mTEX weather protection on top of your Notos. Thanks to its ThermoPlume® padding and the tight fit, your Notos will make sure you don’t look too big when wearing another jacket on top.
Like all Maier Sports products featuring a water-resistant finish, the sporty Notos jackets and vests are entirely PFC-free and thus environmentally friendly. There are five different colours for women to choose from, while men have four different options for both the jacket and the vest.
