Subsidiary Germatürk: A Reliable Partnership in All Circumstances
Türkiye is the world’s eighth-largest exporter of apparel, and the garment industry is the country’s second-largest industrial sector. Continued growth of this sector is expected. Apparel production is present in nearly all regions and cities of Türkiye, including İzmir, where our subsidiary is located.
A total of 31 employees (production and office) work at our subsidiary—some of them for approximately 30 years. They have therefore been part of the company almost since the beginning, as the subsidiary was founded by Maier Sports GmbH in 1989. At that time, the management decided to establish a production site in Türkiye due to the country’s well-developed textile industry and its large number of well-trained specialists. This decision is reflected not only in the product quality, but also in the long-standing and trust-based cooperation.
From the outset, Maier Sports has placed strong emphasis on ensuring safe and appropriate working conditions at the production site. This is a principle that Germatürk also upholds, providing a solid basis for cooperation. This is also evident with regard to the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG), which applies to Germatürk as a subsidiary of a German company. As a result, cooperation has become even more intensive and has developed consistently positively. We support Germatürk to the best of our ability and can rely on receiving well-founded and timely feedback from our colleagues in Türkiye.

Supplier Assessment of Germatürk
Germatürk conducts an assessment of all its suppliers at least once a year. In addition to product quality, the assessment also considers whether a quality management system is in place and whether aspects of social responsibility are addressed. The results of this assessment influence whether cooperation with a supplier can be continued in the future. The graphic below illustrates how the assessment is structured and what consequences result from the respective evaluation outcome.

Grievance Mechanisms
At our subsidiary in Türkiye, employees have three options for submitting inquiries or complaints. They can raise concerns through employee representatives, use a suggestion or complaint letterbox for anonymous or named submissions, or make use of the open-door policy. This policy allows employees to discuss their thoughts or concerns directly and informally with company management.
