As a company operating in the German market with international supply chains, Maier Sports GmbH acknowledges its corporate responsibility towards people and the environment. We are aware of this responsibility and have therefore committed ourselves and our business partners to comply with social and environmental standards through a Code of Conduct. But what exactly is a Code of Conduct, and why do we have three of them?
These include the Responsible Business Conduct. This document constitutes a voluntary commitment by Maier Sports GmbH to responsible business conduct. The Responsible Business Conduct applies generally to both brands of Maier Sports GmbH, meaning it is relevant for all employees in their interactions with one another as well as in cooperation with business partners. The document sets out specific environmental and social objectives and outlines initial measures intended to support the achievement of these objectives. Progress towards these objectives is to be supported through continuous improvement, joint measures and transparent reporting. As a result, this document provides a significantly higher level of detail and focuses on the topics relevant to Maier Sports GmbH.
Based on the Responsible Business Conduct, the Supplier Code of Conduct was subsequently developed. As the name suggests, this document sets out a code of conduct for our supplier relationships. By signing the Supplier Code of Conduct, suppliers acknowledge our environmental and social objectives and commit to contributing to their implementation. In addition, they confirm that they will in turn ensure compliance with the Code of Conduct within their own supply chains.
The codes signed by the management serve as guiding frameworks for our business conduct and outline our values as well as our commitments. In this way, they represent the first step in fulfilling our corporate due diligence obligations.
All three documents are also available on our brand websites.
Our clear commitment to consistent compliance with laws, regulations and internal policies includes the willingness to prevent and address misconduct. This expressly includes our openness to receiving information regarding economic criminal offences, serious regulatory violations, breaches of employment obligations and other serious violations of rules or laws in connection with Schwan‑STABILO.
